The Christmas holidays are just around the corner and things are coming together here in Southlake. This weekend, the festivities kick off with the ‘Home for the Holidays’ events. Be sure to get the details to make sure you can experience these special holiday traditions!
Below are a few of our favourite events that we think you should be around to see:
On Saturday the 22nd of November, people will gather for the Annual Tree Lighting. Santa Claus will be the special guest to be the one to flip the switch to light up the gigantic tree with thousands of lights. The radio station 94.9 KLTY will be there as well to participate in the event with radio host, Tony Lopez, who will be emceeing the event. This radio station will be promoting their popular KLTY Christmas Wish™ program, so be sure to stop by to read wishes or grant a wish of your own.
Santa’s Village is the best place to get a picture with Santa Claus. Open from November 22nd to December 24th, Children of any age can visit Saint Nick in the famous red suit at Santa’s Village located in Rustin Park from Sunday, November 24th, where Ashley Nostalgia Photography will be on site to capture the magic happening during this wonderful holiday tradition. Be sure to get your children to drop off a letter to Santa at the Village Post Office where you can include your return address so they can get a letter in return.
Carriage Rides are run every year by the Workhorse Ranch & Old Time Carriage Company, who create an exclusive service experience for the Southlake Town Square, and set among the quant and beautiful Southlake shopping center there is no better place to do it. It’s a great way to relive some of way things would have been 100 years ago and a fantastic way to spend time with your family in a winter wonderland on this special holiday. The carriages are usually out after 6pm on Fridays, 5pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays during the holiday season. Reservations can be made only online and pre-pay is required.
Many shops are still open during the Black Friday holiday season across the Town Square, Shops of Southlake, Southlake Corners and Gateway Plaza. Stores like Barnes & Noble are open from 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Toys ‘R Us 5:00 PM Thur – 10:00 PM Fri, Bed, Bath & Beyond 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Kohl’s 8:00 PM Thur – 12:00 AM Sat and Nordstrom Rack from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
